Selfish post time! (As if those hardly exist - HA).
Watch our video! Thanks!
I love my mom, I really do. She’s an amazing woman with a great spirit, kind heart, and is always thinking about my well being. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not the best daughter. I get frustrated on the phone, I lose my temper, and a lot of times I end up staring at the clock timer on my phone when her lectures get a little on the long-winded side (as always).
This past weekend was Mother’s Day, so I fulfilled my filial obligations by giving her a call. After a few pleasantries and familiar platitudes, she brought up the credit card account she helped open for me a few weeks ago.
To make a long story short: she opened yet ANOTHER card for me under her wing even against my protests. To appease her, I agreed to use the card but I was unable to get into the account online. Since she forgot her passcode and login, I asked her to find out by calling the bank and then pay the balance (and I would pay her back). Then after that was settled I would close the card.
Well, she got the passcode and login but didn’t pay the balance. So, late payment. Great.
Here was the subsequent call that I had with her earlier today –
Me: Okay, so what’s your login and password?
Mom: It’s ****** and ******
Me: It’s asking for the year you graduated high school.
Mom: What?
Me: It’s a question they asked so I can log in. What year did you graduate high school?
Mom: That’s wrong, I never answered a question like that.
Me: Well obviously you did, it’s asking me as one of your security questions. What year?
Mom: Put in 9.
Me: Mom, it’s asking for four numbers.
Mom: Four?
Me: Yes, four.
Mom: As in, one two three four?
Me: (exasperated) Yes, FOUR. As in YEAR. Like 1-9-8-4.
Mom: Ooh, hm. Gosh it’s been so long I don’t think I remember what year in high school. High school you say? (long pause)
Me: Mom? Mom just please call the bank.
Mom: And you said 9 doesn’t work?
Me: …..
If anything, I should thank her for always giving me something to write about, even if it’s to sites like MyMomIsAFob.com.
I know it’s been ages since I’ve updated.
A few reasons (read: excuses) -
1. Tons of things going on lately
2. I didn’t know what to write about
3. It takes awhile to create something worth reading
4. Meh
5. I discovered how great it is to use a tumble blog
That’s right, you read that correctly. Just when I thought it would be more than enough to start a personal blog (which is obviously harder to load with fresh content than I initially thought) as well as Yelp, Facebook, Twitter, and more…I started something else.
In my defense, there are a lot of reasons why I like tumblr. First of all, I love sharing links and posts. Initially, I thought that my blog site would be the best place to do that. But with the platform, I can load up anything I want whenever I want in a matter of seconds versus a few minutes of planning and then formatting.
So will I keep writing? Probably. And, of course, I hope to start scanning some more of my drawings and sharing food finds and other goodies. But for those simple things that don’t warrant a blog post, you can take a peek my tumble blog here.
See you on the flip side.
