Archive for November, 2009
I’m sure most of you remaining readers are already tired of reading about NaNoWriMo, but since it’s been awhile since I’ve constructed a poorly written form of poetry, I figured I’d give my brain a little hoop to jump through to end the night.
I give to you (ahem-hem)…
Sonnet of the NaNoWriMo Early Musings in semi-poetic form

Books blanketing the shelves, stack after stack
Their covers a tease, they beg to be read
I always hope to contribute to that
But dreams gave way to the need to be fed
Then I found, to my glee and delight
An answer for my pesky ambition
Nanowrimo: just sit down and write!
Of course, it came with a condition:
50,000 words in all of November
Quantity, not quality is key.
Yes, a feat not hard to remember
And yes, not sure what’s gotten into me
Insanity, sure, but finish I will
Afterward I have lots of time to chill
As I wrote in my earlier post about NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) I decided rather ambitiously that I would throw my hand in at trying to pump out 50,000 words along with other aspiring writers across the nation during the month of November.
So what does that mean? Well, as the title of the post indicates, I’ll probably be taking a writing hiatus from my occasional blog posts about random things. I’ll try to keep interesting things coming as best as I can, but given how my brain feels trampled after writing an additional (poorly constructed) 1,700 words for my “novel,” it’s quite unlikely.
It really does feel like a mental marathon. Whew.
Only 41,000 more words and 27 more days to go!
