10 things I look forward to in the future

I had to make a list because... I like lists. And, admittedly, I just want to think about normal life again.

These are the things that come to mind of what I want to do (in no particular order) immediately when we all feel safe again to go out and about our 'normal' lives before the pandemic took over.

1. Hug all of the family and friends that I can.
I don't think there's any explanation needed for why this is #1, even though this list is in no particular order.

2. Take a flight.
I know it's crazy, but even when my toddler plays pretend to jump on a plane, a part of my heart lurches. I miss airports; I love the bustle and busy commotion of travelers ready to head to their next destination. I love the feeling of sitting on the plane, waiting for the trip to start.

3. Stay at a hotel.
Seriously, I want to live somewhere and have someone clean up after me and luxuriate in sheets in a bed by myself.

4. Visit Disneyland.
While I do have my gripes about LA, Disneyland has been a source of saccharine comfort from the harsh realities of the real world. No matter how cynical you may be, bitterness melts away when you take a bit of a churro and soak in the magic.

5. Go on a hike.

I really, really miss nature. I miss the feeling of climbing a hill, seeking out the beautiful sight that awaits when you're on a trail.

6. Eat at a restaurant.

There's something special about sitting down for a meal that has been meticulously prepared by someone who chose their professional career to cook. We're very fortunate in LA because we have so many talented chefs and restauranteurs. My fingers are crossed that they stay in business so we can enjoy their talents once more.

7. Sip a coffee at a bougie coffee shop.

I am not going to lie...I'm one of those people that loves taking up a table and hammering out a blog post or working on my laptop to lazy music. I'm bougie and basic, and I'm freely admitting it. Bonus points if the coffee shop has some light wood, minimalistic lighting with plenty of sunshine.

8. Take my child to a museum, playground...anywhere.

One of the things I miss the most is taking my kiddo somewhere like a museum or a playground. Parenting is hard, but it's definitely wonderful when you can share fun moments together outside of the same walls of an apartment.

9. Go dancing.

I used to get the itch to go out at night with a group of girl friends and just dance the night away. One day, I hope that I can do that again. Music pumping, lights low, and just sweating and dancing all the emotions out.

10. Just going anywhere.

Whether it's Texas to see family or Hawaii to relive the memories we've made in the past or exploring a brand new city...I just miss travel.

Sending hugs to everybody around the world.
