Content For Comfort During Quarantine

There have been countless resources to help stay sane during this period of time. A lot of people have shared online classes and educational resources.

While I really appreciate all of the ideas for how to entertain my toddler or how to stay fit (as I scoop myself another bowl of ice cream) for me, here are a few links that have helped me process a lot of my feelings. Some of these have been articles, and others have been bite sized videos.

Even though there are days that still feel much harder than others, some of these articles have given me a lot of perspective.

The Discomfort You're Feeling is Grief

I've seen this Harvard Business Review article circulate around quite a bit, and for good reason. As we approach even more uncertainty of when life will go back again, this was a beneficial article that helped remind me that we're all in this together.

Trevor Noah speaks to Christina Koch

I joked that quarantine has confirmed for me that I am not astronaut material because of many reasons. One of them is the tight quarters to live in for an extended period of time. That said, I found this interview really eye-opening and interesting between Trevor Noah (whom I deeply admire and adore) and Astronaut Christina Koch.

When SARS ended

I thought this piece in the New Yorker gave a lot of perspective during this time from someone that had lived a variation of what we're going through. I love the New Yorker, even though I've never been able to keep up with all the dense issues during the brief period of time when I had a subscription.

Here are the innovations we need to re-open the economy

I'm not going to lie, there are so many times that I've wished desperately for things to quickly go back to normal. While sometimes reading articles with headlines like "Disneyland to re-open in 2021" freak me out a bit, this op-ed by Bill Gates is straightforward and sensible. We don't know what is coming, but it's good to understand what we need.
